Shop Small Saturday

Small Business Saturday is a one-day nation-wide event that takes place every November on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.  The event was created in 2010 by American Express as a way to encourage support for small businesses during the Great Recession.

The Village Commons is populated with small mom and pop businesses, meaning you won't find big-box stores here; only family owned boutique style shops.  Small Business Saturday allows consumers to support small businesses during a time of year when many could benefit from a little extra support. Their deals may not be as flashy as your favorite big-box retailers, but shopping small can have a huge impact on a small business.

Shoppers are drawn to small businesses primarily because that's where they can find unique gift ideas and better customer service. In addition, shopping small fosters a sense of community.  And community is what The Village Commons is all about.
